These tags live outdoors, in rain, dust and UV, strapped to a scaffold standard or a ladder stile. Rigid plastic will not tear, go soggy or fade after a month on site. A note on compliance

Tags are a visible record of inspection — they support your inspection regime, they do not replace it. Inspections must still be carried out by a competent person in line with the relevant regulations. What our tags do is make the status of every asset obvious at a glance.

What UK law says about scaffold inspections

Under the Work at Height Regulations 2005, scaffolding from which a person could fall two metres or more must be inspected before first use and then at intervals not exceeding seven days, as well as after any alteration, damage or event likely to have affected its strength — such as high winds. The inspection must be carried out by a competent person, and a written report is required. A tag system does not replace that written report, but it puts the scaffold’s current status where everyone can see it: at the access point, before anyone climbs.

A clearly displayed inspection tag tells site workers three things at a glance — when the scaffold was last inspected, who inspected it, and when the next inspection is due. Many principal contractors now expect a visible tag on every standing scaffold as a condition of site access. Why printed plastic beats laminated paper on site

Site conditions destroy paper. Laminated inserts fade in sunlight, wick water at the edges and tear where the cable tie passes through. A rigid 760-micron PVC tag with print sealed beneath the surface survives rain, UV and repeated handling for the life of the scaffold — and a write-on panel accepts a permanent marker for each new inspection entry. When the job ends, tags come down with the scaffold and a fresh set goes up on the next one.

Are the tags weatherproof?

Yes. They are rigid waterproof plastic and are made to survive outdoor site conditions, including rain and sunlight, without tearing or fading.

Can each tag have a unique asset number?

Yes. We print sequential or custom asset numbers on every tag, so individual ladders, harnesses and equipment can be tracked in your inspection records.

How do the tags attach to scaffolding and ladders?

Each tag has a punched hole, 5mm in diameter and positioned anywhere around the edge, ready for a cable tie. Cable ties themselves are not supplied.

Can we have our own company branding instead of a generic tag?

Yes. That is the point. Every tag is custom printed with your logo, colours and contact details, so your scaffolding carries your name rather than a generic tag brand.
